As one of its mandate areas, the ATI aims to address systemic bottlenecks for inclusive and sustainable agricultural transformation through its Policy Team. The Policy Team executes high-impact policy-related assignments, including coordinating the implementation of the Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) Policy reform to contribute to the country’s broader economic-reform agenda. The revised ARD policy includes 44 policy directions and ~200 policy instruments structured in ten thematic areas.
In line with that, the ATI coordinates agricultural sector policy reforms, the implementation of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Indigenous Policy Reform Agenda and conducts policy analysis on agricultural sector policy reform. It prepares policy enforcement laws and supports their approval by the Ministry of Agriculture in addition to coordinating with various government bodies, domestic and foreign policy research institutes, and development partners
