The ATI focuses on harnessing technology to empower farmers, improve market access, and streamline agricultural processes, helping to accelerate the sector’s transformation. The Institute has launched digital platforms such as the 8028 Farmer’s Hotline and the National Market Information System (NMIS) to provide essential agronomic information and market data to farmers, enhancing productivity and informed decision-making. It also developed the Digital Agriculture Extension and Advisory Services (DAEAS) Roadmap, which charts the course for the digitization of agricultural extension and advisory services in Ethiopia by 2030.
The Digital Agriculture interventions aim at transforming the agricultural sector by addressing systemic bottlenecks through the provision of inclusive and tailored extension services, using cost-effective and efficient digital tools. They contribute toward the development of a modern and market-oriented agriculture system and achievement of the national goals through the development of ICT platforms and the introduction of innovations and best practices.
