The ATI, in collaboration with, the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has launched the Digital Agriculture Extension and Advisory Services (DAEAS) Roadmap 2030. This strategic initiative aims to build a productive, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food system through the collaborative delivery of customized digital services to all farmers in Ethiopia.
The DAEAS Roadmap aims to address the challenges facing digital agricultural extension and advisory services in Ethiopia by addressing five key areas: Hardware and Connectivity, Data and Analytics, Governance and Policy, Human Capital, and the Business Environment.
To achieve its vision and address sector-wide challenges, the roadmap outlines 30 initiatives organized under three core strategic pillars, designed to drive transformation within the agricultural extension sector and beyond. The first pillar, Solutions Pipeline, focuses on accelerating the development of digital innovations for priority farmer use cases. The second pillar, Digital Stack, emphasizes supporting the development of essential digital elements, such as hardware, connectivity, data, and analytics, to facilitate product development and farmer use cases. Lastly, the Enabling Environment pillar aims to create a conducive atmosphere for the digitalization of the agriculture sector by strengthening government policies, human capital, and the business environment.
